Kelly Wiedemann Jaén is a violinist, pianist, teacher, conductor, and arranger based in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. She has performed and conducted throughout North and South America as well as Europe. In addition, Kelly is also a singer and percussionist, and dabbles in a variety of instruments, including mandolin, viola, cello, bass, and guitar. Kelly is passionate about creating multi-style musicians and enjoys playing classical, folk, fiddle/bluegrass, Celtic, jazz, rock, and pop.
Kelly received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Washington Adventist University (then Columbia Union College) and her Master of Music in Music Education from James Madison University. She currently serves as Associate Music Director at Shenandoah Valley Academy where she teaches Strings, Orchestra, and Sophomore English. Kelly is also the Associate Director of Red Wing Academy, a summer fiddle camp. Prior positions include String Instructor with Shenandoah Valley Preparatory Music at Eastern Mennonite University, String Ensemble Director at Harrisonburg High School, and K-12 Music Director at Hinsdale Adventist Academy in Chicago.
When not teaching, Kelly enjoys collaborating with other musicians and playing violin with the Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra. She also frequently performs with her brothers and parents. Outside of music, Kelly enjoys hiking, road trips, and movie watching with her husband, Marcel, and his two boys.
